I want to give a heartfelt thank you to Catherine and her team for all their support over the years. My dog, Lilly, began obedience training two and a half years ago, and the difference in her has been life-changing. I believe dogs should have manners and respect, just as we show them respect and love in return—and Catherine’s guidance has truly instilled that in Lilly.
Lilly started as a playful, excitable puppy who thought everything was a game. Now, after completing her therapy and service dog training, she is calm, attentive, and focused. The certification process with Catherine was thorough but reassuring. Every step felt tailored to my and Lilly’s needs, and the feedback and guidance we got helped us both be prepared for public settings. It wasn’t only about passing—it was about knowing Lilly was ready to do her job wherever we go.
Thanks to this certification, I feel confident taking Lilly with me wherever I go, whether we’re shopping, walking around town, or even to church. I can rely on her to behave appropriately, and it’s given me more freedom and ease in my everyday life. Her support helps me with my mobility and breathing challenges and encourages me to stay active. With her help, I can now go on walks, and when I struggle to breathe, she gently guides me back home by her working harness.
What stands out most is how easily Lilly adjusted to her new role. She's comfortable entering stores, being in crowded spaces and busy restaurants. Lilly has even learned to sense when something isn’t safe for me, always staying alert to my needs.
Of course, she still gets to be a dog— greeting children and enjoying time with my Alzheimer’s group, even though I remind them not to touch her while she’s working. People often stop to ask about her training, and Lilly’s journey has become a great conversation starter.
Catherine is an incredible trainer. She understands that every dog is unique and listens to their needs. Her expertise and care have made all the difference for us, and I’m grateful for everything she has done.

I’ve been taking my Cockapoo to My Bark Avenue Academy since he was just three months old. He’s now a year old, and what a difference that year has made! In that time, we’ve developed the skills and confidence needed to build a strong, trusting relationship. This training has not only transformed my dog but also improved my ability to enjoy life, whether I’m in town or traveling, with the reassurance of a well-trained and affectionate companion by my side. Thanks to the Canadian Support and Service Dog Certification Program, my dog is now a certified service dog. I can take him anywhere—stores, offices, and more—knowing that we both have the tools to maintain appropriate behavior. Catherine and her assistants are incredibly knowledgeable, skilled, and caring. They’ve helped us prepare for a wonderful life together, and I couldn’t be more grateful for their guidance. - Geoff Nabb |
